I've always been fascinated by flying. Triggered by the origami hang gliders in the childhood, I deep dived into aviation and aeronautics in my college era. I received a B.Eng. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University and M.S. degrees in both Aeronautics & Astronautics and Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. My rigorous academic training has helped me build in-depth understanding in aerodynamics, aircraft design, aircraft controllability, systems and etc. I've also had opportunities to serve as a teaching assistant for Stanford's CS229: Machine Learning with Prof. Andrew Ng and AA240: Analysis of Structures with Prof. Fu-kuo Chang to hone my teaching skills early on.
On the flying side, I started my private pilot journey in 2014 at the Palo Alto Airport (KPAO). I then obtained my instrument rating, commercial pilot certificate and flight instructor certificate in the windy Kansas and then multiengine and seaplane ratings in the beautiful Michigan. I have extensive real-world experiences flying across the country, crossing the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada multiple times via different routes, in different seasons and in different airframes. I have experiences in C152, C172 series (including RG), C182 series, PA12S, PA22 series, PA23, PA28 series (including PA28R), PA30, DA40 and BE24 with either a traditional six-pack instrumentation or a technically advanced aircraft (TAA) configuration. I also own a 1969 Piper Arrow and have helped my clients purchase airplanes for their training and personal travel.
I currently hold the following FAA certificates and ratings -
Commercial Pilot Certificate
Airplane Single Engine Land
Airplane Single Engine Sea
Airplane Multiengine Land
Flight Instructor Certificate

Ground Instructor Certificate

Remote Pilot Certificate
